RSA has the expertise to investigate indoor air quality problems associated with environmental hazards such as lead, asbestos, mercury, mold and bacteria. RSA has conducted hundreds of building investigations covering a wide variety of structures such as schools, government buildings, office buildings, retail centers, apartment complexes, assisted living centers, single-family and multi-family residential units. RSA employs a Registered Environmental Property Assessor, a Certified Environmental Technician, and a state- licensed Asbestos Inspector experienced in indoor air quality investigations.
When moisture problems occur and mold and bacteria growth results, building occupants may begin to report odors and a variety of health problems, such as headaches, breathing difficulties, skin irritation, allergic reactions, and aggravation of asthma symptoms; all of these symptoms could potentially be associated with mold or bacteria exposure. It is possible that mold and bacteria may be growing on hidden surfaces including pipe chases and utility tunnels, walls behind furniture, condensate drain pans inside air handling units, porous thermal or acoustic liners inside ductwork, or roof materials above ceiling tiles. In most cases, RSA can locate these affected areas without the need of expensive sampling. RSA employs a Texas Department of State Health Services licensed Mold Assessment Consultant for investigations associated with moisture intrusion.
